August 10-16

Monday.

I can't remember.

Moving on.

Tuesday.

Also couldn't remember.

Until approximately five seconds ago when I remembered WE WENT TO CUBA.

Not the country.

Cuba Lake.

Now, if you know me, you know I am directionally challenged to a T.

I could drive somewhere 47 times and on trip 48 still confidently turn the wrong way.

So where is Cuba Lake in relation to Rochester?

Up? Down? Over? West?

Please don't ask me. I got in the car and followed the little blue line.

This is me anytime someone gives me directions:

Funny meme about getting directions, text reads person giving directions says you cant miss it, me says you wanna bet.

Tuesday Cuba Lake Vibes

Three children wearing life jackets relax on a pontoon boat couch near the water on a sunny day.
Three children riding a towable tube on a lake, wearing life jackets, smiling and waving while being pulled by a boat.
Two children relaxing on a blue patterned hammock by a lakeside on a sunny summer day.
A smiling toddler girl in a red dress holds up a colorful yellow and red rubber band loom bracelet outdoors.

ANYWAYS.

My friend Ellen has a lake house up/over/down there, and it is seriously one of the most peaceful places.

I met Ellen when we first moved here.

Her son and Henry became besties in the PNS twos program, and the rest is history.

Every summer we try to make it out to the lake at least once or twice.

It's the best.

Wednesday.

Was I productive?

Prob?

OH. I washed the sheets.

Wait, no I lie. That was Monday.

Thursday.

Oh, Thursday I KNOW.

The cutest newborn session followed by a family session.

Tiny baby bro with big sis + families I get to photograph = a very good day at the office.

Friday.

Editing party on my Mac.

And by “party,” I mean me, my computer, approximately 4,000+ photos, and a few ice cream sandwiches.

Honestly, I've attended worse parties. This was fun.

Saturday.

Photographed a one-year-old birthday party.

There was a smash cake.

A playground. The nicest people.

A+ party. The theme, the decor, the everything.

That mom deserves a a gold star. Prob 3 of them. Moms are the best.

I would like to formally request a 36-year-old smash cake.

Is that too much to ask?

See you next week.

xoxo, hilary
